Individual psychotherapy,
and psychoanalysis
Katie Collins, PsyA
Twofold Therapy is a NYC psychoanalytic practice led by Katie Collins, offering collaborative care for adults and couples.
Our approach is contemporary, psychodynamic, and relational. Sessions explore patterns in thoughts, feelings, and relationships and move at a pace that feels safe and sustainable. Each clinician balances practical tools with deeper exploration so insight can turn into real-life change. The goal is lasting growth, steadier relationships, and a more flexible way of living.
About
Katie Collins, PsyA

Each clinician balances practical tools with deeper exploration, combining grounding and communication skills with attention to the unconscious dynamics that shape behavior and relationships.

We aim to create a space where curiosity replaces self-judgment and where small insights can translate into new ways of responding in daily life.

The goal is lasting growth, steadier relationships, and a more flexible way of living—one that supports creativity, connection, and an authentic sense of self.

Services include individual psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, couples therapy, and consultations for dissociation.
Intake begins with a consultation designed to understand what is happening now, what has helped or hindered in the past, and what changes feel most important at this stage of life. This initial meeting is a chance to slow down, clarify goals, and get a sense of whether the fit feels right. Together, we look at the concerns bringing someone in — whether that is anxiety, relational tension, creative stagnation, or a broader wish for self-understanding and discuss what kind of support might be most useful. From there, a plan is set that fits the rhythms of the client’s life, which may include once-weekly psychotherapy or higher-frequency psychoanalysis.
